Tree-of-heaven is a native of China.Ailanthus altissima, commonly known as tree of heaven, ailanthus, varnish tree, or in Chinese as chouchun, is a deciduous tree in the family Simaroubaceae. Tree-of-heaven has a slightly rough pale gray bark with lightly colored striations giving the appearance of “reptile-like skin” on more mature trees.
